Stupor Bowl

2485 Scares

The Stupor Bowl was created to pay homage to one of the greatest NFL Teams of all time, The 1985 Chicago Bears and is run by Mike “Valdric” Muller.

Special rules of this tournament include a Stupor Bowl Shuffle (random special play cards), Windy City Kickoff Table, and of course legendary Star Players of the 2485 Scares Team, Da Freezer, Slim McHamm, Salter Painton, Spike Dingleberry, and Killie Gault.

Stupor Bowl V will be held at Adepticon on Saturday and Sunday, April 21st and 22nd. There will be three games on Saturday and three games on Sunday. There will be individual winners on each day as well as overall winners for all six games. This will allow you to play one day and still have time to enjoy many of the other events at Adepticon!

Each registered participant will receive a limited edition Killie Gault mini, two Adepticon X D6s, a custom dugout, and other freebies in the Adepticon X swag bag.

The tournament build is 1.1 million with a choice of three different skill packs. Tournament will be a resurrection style tournament. So any injuries your team suffers will not carry over to the next game, and any SPPs earned will also be erased. The roster you start the tournament with will be the same for each round you play.

To celebrate the fifth anniversary of the Stupor Bowl and the tenth anniversary of Adepticon, the Scares Star Players are discounting their prices and are guaranteed to play, regardless of whether or not your opponent also brings that star player, so go ahead and put ‘em on your roster!

Prize support is provided by Impact! Miniatures

In addition to two days of Bloodbowl action, there is also Smackswell Street Market. Do have some extra miniatures or other gaming items lying around that you’d like to trade/sell? Bring ‘em to the tournament and put them in the Smackswell Street Market. You never know, your trash might be someone else’s treasure! They don’t have to be Blood Bowl miniatures, feel free to bring any miniatures or other gaming items!

GenCon Bowl

GenCon Bowl

GenCon is the original, longest running, best attended, gaming convention in the world. For over 44 years, GenCon Indy has been setting the trend and breaking records. Last year, more than 120,103 turnstile and 36,106 unique attendees experienced Gen Con Indy. The biggest complaint we hear is that there is simply too much to do, see, and experience. Get lost in a phantasm of art exhibits. Stare at jaw-dropping costumes, or better yet, wear one of your own. Meet the movers and the shakers in the gaming industry. Check out the newest games and get a sneak peek at the latest editions.

Make sure one of those stops is the annual GenCon Blood Bowl Tournament!

GenCon Bowl will be held on Saturday, August 18th at GenCon in Indianapolis, IN and run by Chaos Cup Committee’s own Mike “Valdric” Muller.  There will be four games of intense blood bowl action.
The rule set will be posted on the NAF site soon, but the basics are:

* 4 games of Swiss pairing
* Rosters must be TV 1100
* Any official teams in the LRB 6.0 are welcome, as well as the three new races (Slann, Chaos Pact, and Underworld Creepers.)

Tournament will be a resurrection style tournament.

Any injuries your team suffers will not carry over to the next game, and any SPPs earned will also be erased.

The roster you start the tournament with will be the same for each round you play.

Each participant will receive custom GenCon Bowl D6s and a custom dugout.

Prize support is generously provided by Impact! Miniatures.

Zlurpee US Midwest Forums

Zlurpee Forums

The Zlurpee Bowl Forums have become the one-stop-shop for information on US tournaments especially those taking place in the Midwest. The original idea was to try and unite the different little groups of coaches and give them a place to come together. It has done that and much more, now offering advice to new tournament organizers and promoting any tournament that comes along.

These forums give a tournament organizer their own sub forums for their tournament so unlike on other forums they aren’t forced to put everything in one thread that becomes a pain to sort through. Having your tournament on the Zlurpee Forums also guarantees that you are advertising it to some of the most dedicated coaches that are the most likely to come to your tournament.  Why waste time and effort advertising to those who aren’t going to come?

Outside of the tournament areas, the forums have awesome general Blood Bowl discussion going on. As well as being the official home of the Zlurpcast and a great place to interact with the hosts of the podcast and a lot of the characters you hear us talking about, come and hang out on the forums and you will feel like you know everyone before you actually meet them at the next tournament you attend.

Over the years the forums have had a lot of community building activities, several legacy teams have been put together. Multiple FUMBBL leagues have been run, as well as one Cyanide league. The annual Fantasy Football league is always fun for those that are able to get into it.

One of the coolest parts of the forum is the Hall of Fame, that keeps tracks of all the awards forum member have won at tournaments, it is nice having someones credentials at your fingertips when they are offering you advice.

Registration has been a monster we are constanly trying to tame, if you are having any issues getting registered to the forums please email Xtreme directly and he’ll hook you up.

Make sure to include the username you are trying to get registered with and he will make sure you get on the forums asap.

Chaos All-Stars

Chaos All-Stars

The Chaos-All Stars were a major part of the lore in the original editions of Blood Bowl. In keeping with the original theme of the team, Impact Miniatures, has produced a Chaos All-Star model to be given away to all participants of the Chaos Cup that year. Here is the current list so you can make sure you track down the full team. Remember, these are all Limited Edition, so once they are gone, you’ll have to find ‘em on ebay!

Zlurpcast – Blood Bowl Podcast

Zlurpcast - Blood Bowl Podcast

Zlurpcast, for over three years now Jonny P and Xtreme having been putting out the most entertaining Blood Bowl podcast in the world.  If you haven’t listened to the show before… you my friend are in for a treat.  The guys cover upcoming tournaments in the US, as well as getting you caught up on the results from recent tournaments.

But this show is so much more then that!

Described as the ‘Blood Bowl Variety Show’,  Zlurpcast consists of interviews with legendary Blood Bowl Star Players, a game show segment called ‘Go For It’, interviews with coaches from around the world, and they even branch out and discuss tournaments  outside of the US.  Mix in a healthy dose of off-topic comedy on any subject imaginable, and you have this baby… The Zlurpcast.

Give a listen to a few episodes and before you know it you will fall in love with the cast of characters that make up Zlurpcast, and you will probably learn some new Dick and/or Ball jokes while you are at it.

Dog in a Bathtub anyone???

Don’t forget to check out the ZlurpCast website where the hosts have blogs that are regularly updated and all kinds of funny pictures and extra content. While you’re there, it would be a good idea to sign up to the Zlurp Nation Email Club.  As a member of the Zlurp Nation, you will get emails that have Bonus Audio Clips in them!

These guys just keep giving and giving.  And you love it.

Zlurpcast also puts out a show in the middle of the month called Zlurpcast Tactic Zone, or ZTZ, where Shawn and Nathan discuss the tactical side of the game and give you tips and maybe some tricks too on how to become a better Bloodbowl coach in your league.

Subscribe on iTunes now, and when you start laughing go back to iTunes and give them a positive review.

Quoted from a review in Southern Strike online Magazine

“So, while Zlurpcast can be slightly annoying at times, and has little informative content it is fun to listen to.”

…. we’ll take it!  #whutupshun

Zlurpee Bowl

ZlurpeeBowl

Zlurpee Bowl was created by Bryan “Xtreme” Mitchell, and is now one of the premier tournaments in America. It started from humble roots and has come a long way since then.

Each year something new is learned and makes the following year that much easier to organize. When things get easier, that provides more free time to try new things. With seven years of hard work getting the tournament to the point it is at now, Xtreme can’t wait to see what next year will bring at Zlurpee Bowl VIII.

The ‘little’ tournament in Indy started out as a footnote to GenCon, but as far as Xtreme is concerned, it has far surpassed GenCon Bowl as the best tournament in Indy. But you wouldn’t want a Tournament Organizer to think anything less right? ZlurpeeBowl currently holds the record for the largest attendance in North America with 68 coaches. The growth of the tournament has been amazing, and can be attributed to the great coaches that attend each year. They take all their fun stories home and bring a few new coaches with them the next year. Zlurpcast has helped the tournament grow a lot in recent years, as now we aren’t dependent on coaches in the Midwest getting the word out, but we have the best Bloodbowl podcast in the world spreading the word.

The list of Zlurpee Bowl Swag items Xtreme has given away over the years is remarkable, and it brings him much joy every time he attends another tournament and notices someone using some of the stuff they got at Zlurpee Bowl. He takes a lot of time to try and come up with cool stuff that people will actually use each year. While there have been some giveaways that Xtreme may have struck out on, most of them have been met with excitement from the coaches attending Zlurpee Bowl!

Coming to Zlurpee Bowl is a special experience. While the regular tournament crowd sees it as another chance to talk to their Blood Bowl friends that they may not get to see too often, there are a lot of coaches who only attend a few tournaments a year and make sure Zlurpee is one of them! We also have a lot of first time tournament coaches that make Zlurpee their first tournament ever. The field at Zlurpee has a wide range of experience levels, but looking to the top tables each round you can see some of the best coaches the US has to offer.

If this is going to be your first tournament ever, or you are a seasoned player that hasn’t been to a Zlurpee you really should make it a point to get there. You will have a blast.  Xtreme promises “a big tournament with the attention to detail you get at smaller tournaments”. Zlurpee Bowl VIII is shaping up to be the biggest and best Zlurpee to date, don’t miss out on all the fun.
