RULES / TEAM BUILDING
Heroes Challenge uses the current CRP/LRB6 rules found here:

http://zlurpcast.com/JP/CRaP-LRB6.pdf

You may choose to use one of the 3 new official teams found here:

http://zlurpcast.com/JP/NewTeamsLRB6.pdf

Using 1,100,000gps, you are to build a team consisting of players,
fan factor, rerolls, assistant coaches, cheerleaders and/or an
apothecary (if applicable for that race)

You MAY have less than 11 players on your roster.

No money can be spent on stat or skill upgrades.

Instead you can award one each of the following upgrades to 4
separate 0-12 or 0-16 players. (ie: Linemen players only)
One player may have +1 ST
One player may have +1 AG
One player may have +1 MA
One player may have +1 AV

Tournament Organizer will provide colored base rings for these
upgrades that you can keep, so that way everyone knows what color
represents what upgrade type. (ie. Red = +1 Strength)

Since this is the Heroes Challenge, we need some Stars!
(Note: Only Stars from the rulebook will be allowed)

EVERY team must have at least one Star Player on their roster.

You can hire up to 4 Star Players total if you wish.

You can have the same Star Player as your opponent. (Clones!)

You CANNOT have more than one of the same Star on your roster.

You can proxy Star Player models, but PLEASE make it clear for
your opponent so he knows who is who.

Stars are the ONLY type of Inducement allowed.

Fouling is ONLY successful on a Doubles Roll. Non-Doubles rolls
on Armor or Injury will cause you to be ejected.

Apothecaries heal on a 2+. Place healed player in Reserves.

Standard Kickoff Table. Standard Weather Table

You will be given 2 Heroes Challenge D6’s to keep that you must
use for each game.

Only GW or NAF Block Dice allowed.
Bring three copies of your roster: One for you, one for opponent,
one for Tournament Organizer.
Bring your own board, block dice, templates, and balls.

First round random pairings, then Swiss pairings after that.

Roster/Injuries will reset each game.Any questions, email tournament organizer at jpeletis@gmail.com
This is Version 1.0 of Heroes Challenge rules

GAME POINTS
60pts for a WIN
30pts for a DRAW
10pts for a LOSS

+5pts for each TD a NON-STAR PLAYER scores for your team
There are no bonus points for Casualties

THEME POINTS
After the final game, the Tournament Organizer will award the
following bonus points to your score

+50 PAINTING POINTS if your team is fully painted
OR

You may purchase these Inducements for your team, and have them for the start of each match. If two teams play each other and have the same star player, they will both be allowed to field the Star. Bloodwieser Babes Bribes

Illegal Procedure:

In the spirit of good sportsmanship, Illegal Procedures will not be called. The 4-minute turn rule will not be strictly enforced. But if the Tournament Referee feels the game may not finish in the 2-hour time allotted, he may insist you use a timer and begin enforcing the 4-minute rule.

Dice:

Everyone that attends ZBVII will be given a set of Zlurpee Bowl dice. These should be the only D6’s used throughout the tournament. Before each match you and your opponent should agree on one set of blocking dice to share throughout the match. Blocking dice should be either GW, or NAF dice only.

Scoring:

Win=4 points Tie=2 points Loss=0 points

Tiebreakers will be,

1. 2. 3.

Head to head Matchup Strength of Schedule Tournament Organizers decision

The tournament will be using a Swiss system to handle matchups, and the big tie breaker will be your strength of schedule, calculated by your opponents tournament score minus your game against them.

Additional Skills:

Players will not gain skills with SPPs. Before the tournament begins you will have 200k to spend on skills and improvements for your players. No player may be given more then 1 additional skill. Use the following pricing. 20,000 New Skill

30,000 Skills that can only be taken on doubles 30,000 +MA or +AV These are the only improvements you may choose. If you have any remaining money it is lost, you don’t get to add it to your team value.

The 6th round is a Championship/Grudge Match round. Any coaches that are not playing at one of the special tables listed below will participate in the Grudge Match round. Any two coaches that haven’t played each other yet that agree to play in the Grudge match round will be paired up. If you can’t find an opponent of a Grudge match you will be paired up with someone close to you in the current tournament standings. Chamipionship Tables: The players that are in 1st-4th place in the standings will play at the top two tables. The Top two tables will be considered the final four, they will decide places 1st through 4th based on tournament points after the final round. The top two coaches using ‘For the Love of the Game’ rosters, will play each other for the ‘FTLOTG’ Trophy. If the game ends in a tie, tournament points will be used to decide a winner. The two coaches that are at the bottom of the standings, will play each other for the ‘Weak Sauce’ award. The Winner of this match will win the award, if it ends in a tie the winner will be decided by most tournament points.

Painting:, and Modeling requirements:

All teams are expected to meet the minimum painted guidelines. They must have 3 colors on them and no metal showing. Non standard or converted minis are acceptable, but we must be able to easily tell the postions apart. You will not be allowed to proxy minis in any way that can confuse an opponent. “This woodelf lineman is actually a catcher.” If you need to borrow models or a team, there are several people on the Zlurpee forums that can help you out with that, don’t be afraid to ask.

Sportsmanship:

We are here for the fun of the game. Sportsmanship is not encouraged from the coaches, it is required! To make sure that everyone who attends will have fun the Tournament official will issue a warning to anyone who is taking away from the fun environment we are looking for. If the behavior continues you will be asked to leave the tournament. Arguing with the tournament organizer or in any way showing them up can also result in a warning. An important note on sportsmanship. Fouling 16 turns in a row and running up the score is not poor sportsmanship. But gloating and ridiculing your opponent while doing so is. Remember we are here to have a good time. The Tournament organizer would love to hear stories of any opponent that you have that showed great sportsmanship. He will use these stories and his own observations to declare a Most Sporting Coach. He would also like to hear stories of any bad situations so that he may correct them.

NAF:

(If you don’t know what the NAF is go to http://thenaf.net/index.php for more info) The Zlurpee Bowl will be a NAF sponsored event. Anyone playing who isn’t a NAF member yet and would like to join may sign up at the tournament, as there will be a NAF representative on site. You can also renew your membership at the tournament and get your dice handed to you.

Awards:

The Zlurpee Bowl prides it self on giving out a lot of awards to as many coaches as possible. With this in mind a coach will not receive more then one performance award. Though they are eligible to win One performance award and as many Hobby awards / Situational Awards as they can. Performance Awards are:

1st-4th place determined by the final four in the last round. Best Defense (Fewest Tds allowed) FreshBreeze Scoring Award (Most Tds scored) Borak Art of Blocking Award (Most CAS inflicted)

Best Comeback (Biggest improvement in the standings after round 3) For the Love of the Game (Top coach using one of the FTLOTG teams) Weak Sauce (Winner of the Weak Sauce table in the final round) Hobby Awards are: Best Appearance voted on by the coaches Most Sporting Coach determined by the Tournament organizer Team Champions (The top Zlurpee Team at ZBVII) Countless other small awards, and situational awards will be given out as well.

Note: I plan to have a prize for anyone that is the only coach playing their race. So that may encourage some to take the lesser played races.

For the Love of the Game:

The Zlurpee Bowl is going to try something different this year, and rather then have a Stunty Cup, we are going to have a FTLOTG award. To be eligible for this award you must have a roster built using the FTLOTG team list available at the end of this rules document. These coaches are truly in it for the Love of the Game, as the odds are stacked against their teams. The winner of the award will be determined in the final round when the top two FTLOTG coaches square off. It is also encouraged that these teams challenge each other during the Grudge Match round.

Zlurpee Bowl VII Team Contest

Again this year at Zlurpee Bowl there will be a side Zlurpee Team Contest. It is important to note that the team contest is a side contest, you are not required to participate. The only goal of the team contest is to provide a fun competition for the different groups of coaches that will be traveling to the event together.

Team Composition:

Teams will consist of 3-5 coaches, that have agreed to play as a team. If you have 6 or more coaches on your team you will be asked to split into smaller teams. Your team must come up with a name for their squad. Each team will be asked to choose a Team Captain, any time there is a decision to be made for the team, the Tournament organizer will go to the Team Captain. If you attend ZBVII and haven’t prearranged to be on a team, you may attempt to align yourself with some of the other coaches there to form a team, as long as the team is together before the start time of the opening round.

Team member Matchups:

Members of the same team will not play each other, and are not allowed to challenge another member of their team in the Grudge Match round. The only time team member will have to play each other is if they both qualify for a special table durring round 6.

Scoring for the Team Competition:

The Base score for each team will be the average tournament score of the members of their team.

Adding in the following bonuses: 5 points Team Unity / Theme 2 points For each member from the team that plays at one of the top two tables in the final round. 5 points For having the ‘Most Sporting Coach’ on your team 2 points for having the Coach that won Best Appearance on your team After adding in the bonuses the teams will be ranked. The top team will receive a special Team Contest Award. Note on Team Unity Theme: Every team is eligible to obtain the full 5 points for this. This doesn’t have to be anything big, just something that shows the coaches that make up your team are together. Examples: matching team shirts/hats. A team banner, anything you can think of these 5 points won’t be to hard to get. Claiming you are all going Commando will not work again this year.

FTLOTG Team list:

If using one of these teams please note it on your roster.

Zlurpee Bowl VII Kickoff Table

2.	Chuck a Zlurpee-A fan has finished another refreshing Zlurpee and rather than dispose of the cup properly has decided to drop a rock in it and throw it at a player on the other team. Each coach rolls a D6 and adds their FAME to the roll. The fans of the team that rolls higher are the fans that have thrown the cup. In the case of a tie both teams have a zlurpee thrown at a player. Decide randomly which player in the other team was hit (only players on the pitch are eligible) and roll for the effects of injury straight away. No armor roll is required.

3.	Corner Blitz-One player on the kicking team has a Zlurpee Buzz; he takes off as the ball is kicked. The kicking team may choose one player to take a blitz action. 4.	Get that Ref a Zlurpee!!!-Rather than continue to slander the Ref’s mother, they have decided it may be better to bribe him. With an ice cold Zlurpee in hand, they go to make their deal. Both teams gain a bribe to be used at anytime during this game.

5.	Out of Zlurpees ?!?!-The game is held up by a Zlurpee Riot. Move the turn counter ahead one space, as the game is held up by the Zlurpee-starved fans. 6.	Line Shift-The kicking team has been practicing a new play in hopes of catching the receiving team flat-footed. Any players on the kicking team that are on the Line of Scrimmage may be repositioned, but must remain on the Line of scrimmage.

7.	Brilliant Coaching-Coaches roll D3+FAME+Assistant Coaches. The team with the highest total gets an extra Reroll for the half thanks to their coaching staff being BRILLIANT! In case of a tie both teams gain a reroll as they are both BRILLIANT! 8. Roaring Fans-The Fans have gone crazy, attempting to fire up there team. Coaches roll D3+Fame+Cheerleaders. Highest score gains a reroll for the half. A tie gives each team a reroll.

9.	Heckling Fans-The Boo Birds are out in force, and are letting their team hear it. Coaches roll D3+FAME+Cheerleaders. The lowest score loses a Reroll for the half. If the result is a tie, both teams lose a reroll.

10.	Rain Maker-The Ball is kicked incredibly high, allowing a player on the receiving team time to run under the ball. Any one player on the receiving team who is not in an opposing tackle zone may be move into the square where the ball will land no matter what their MA may be, as long as the square is unoccupied, and in the receiving half.

11.	Zlurpee Time Out-One team’s sideline staff has decided their team could use a pick me up and goes off to get some Zlurpees for the injured boys. Coaches roll D6+FAME+Coaches+Cheerleaders. The team with the highest total immediately places all players currently in their KO box into their Reserves box. Reroll any ties.

12.	Piss Poor Coaching-Though they are paid well, the coaches on of one team may not deserve their pay checks. Coaches roll D3+FAME+Coaches. Low score loses a reroll for the half. In the case of a tie, both teams lose a reroll.

13.	Jump the Snap-The Receiving team jumps the snap count and catches the kicking team off guard. All the players on the Receiving team are allowed to move one square. This may be made into any adjacent empty square, ignoring tackle zones. It may be used to enter the opposing half of the pitch.

14.	The Green Zlurpees?-Someone has slipped one of the players a Green Zlurpee between drives. Each coach rolls D6 + Fame. Low roll is the targeted team. Randomly choose a player from that team that is currently on the pitch. The Player isn’t thinking about playing bloodbowl right now, and runs off to pursue other activities. Place the player in the reserves box as he will be missing until the next kickoff.

15.	Blitz!!!-The kicking team start their drive early hoping to get the upper hand. The kicking team receives a free ‘bonus’ turn; however, players that are in an enemy tackle zone at the beginning of this free turn may not perform an action. They are free, though, to talk trash to the opponent. The kicking team may use team rerolls during a Blitz. If any player suffers a turnover, then the bonus turn ends immediately.

16.	Turf Toe-The player closest to the spot of the ball falls prey to the legendary turf monster while trying to get under the kick. Knock the player stunned immediately. (If multiple players are equidistant, the kicking coach chooses.)

Cost: $10 per tag team (that’s $5 a person for those not quick with the math)
General Rules:
-4 games in one day of bloodbowl Mayhem.
-This is a NAF approved event, if you aren’t a member there will be someone to take signups if you
wish to at the event.
-We will be using the LRB 6.0 you can find it here,

http://tinyurl.com/yhlg5jb

-The three new teams will also be welcome, Slann, Chaos Pact, and Underworld team rules can be
found here,

http://www.thenaf.net/files/NewTeams_LRB6.pdf

-Tournament will be resurriction style, so any injuries you suffer, will be healed and likewise any SPPs
you earn will be erased. The team you start the tournament with will be the same for each match.
-In the spirit of good sportsmanship illegal procedure will not be called. The 4 minute turn limit will
not be strictly enforced, but all games are expected to be finished in the 2 hours and 15 minutes alloted
to each round.
-Tournament will provide custom dice you get to keep. These will be the only D6 allowed to be used
throughout the tournament. You and your opponent should agree on a set of blocking dice to share.
-Please bring your team, 2 copies of your roster, and a bloodbowl board if you have one.

Painting:
No teams will be turned away for painting, but… Paint your teams! It’s a lot more fun that way! Note:
Because players will have different skill sets, it must be readily apparent as to which player is which
(i.e., positions must be identifiable, and players must be clearly numbered or easily marked).

Sportsmanship:
We are here for the fun of the game. Good Sportsmanship is required! An important note on
sportsmanship: fouling 16 turns in a row and running up the score is not poor sportsmanship. But
gloating and ridiculing your opponent while doing so is. Remember we are here to have a good time.
If you have any questions or concerns about these rules, let us know about it on the Zlurpee Forums at

http://zlurpeebowl.com/Forums/index.php

Notes on Tournament Theme
You will have to register for the tournament with a tag team partner. There will be no individual
awards, all scoring will be done as a team.
You are encouraged (but not required) to have a theme for your tag team. The only requirements are a
name, and both your teams must either be a heel, or face. You can’t have one heel team, and one face
team as they would never work together as a team. But costumes, entrance music trash talk, hype men
etc, will all add to the awesome environment we are aiming for. There will be awards for teams that
put the extra effort in.
Through out the touranment you will always be sitting next to your tag team partner and sqauring off
against the members of another Tag team. First round will be random, after that swiss pairing will be in
play. Overall standings will be point based.
There will be a custom kickoff table and weather table used for this event, that will carry the wrestling
theme over into them as well. They can be found at the end of this document.

Team Building
-Teams will be 1,100,000
-You will have your choice of one of the following skill packages
Heel Package
-Give 3 Players Dirty Player and sneaky git
-Also give out 4 more skills players could get on a normal (non-doubles) roll.
Special Rule: Teams that take the Heal package, are hated by the fans. If a player is ever pushed into
the crowd, add 1 to the injury.
Special Action: Teams that are listed as Heels, will be allowed to take a chair shot action once per
match.
Instead of blocking an opponent you make a chair shot on them, immediately roll for armour, adding
+3 to the roll. After the chair shot the ref takes it away.

Face Package
-Give 3 players Wrestle
-Also give out 4 more skills players could get on a normal (non-doubles) roll.
Special Rule: Teams that take the Hero package, are adored by the fans and gain a +1 FAME
Special Action:Hulk up, once per match teams that are listed as Faces will be allowed to perform a
Hulk up before taking a block, or blitz action agaisnt a stronger opponent. For this one block you act as
if you made a successful dauntless roll. You also get to have might blow if you knock the player down.
If your player already has mighty blow you may add +1 to both the armour and injury rolls.
-Note on skills, there is no limit to the number of skills one player may have. If you want to give one
player all 4 of your additional skills go for it.
-Star players, may be added to your team, but you must first have 11 players from your team list on
your team.
-Wizards, Mercs and cards will not be allowed.
-Apothecaries will work on a 2+ and place the player in the resreves box, we all know wrestling is fake.

Schedule
9:30-10:00 Registration
10:00-12:15 Round 1
12:15-1:00 Lunch
1:00-3:15 Round 2
3:30-5:45 Round 3
6:00-8:15 Round 4
8:30 Awards

Scoring:
Each tag team partner will earn their own points, but for the purposes of the standings and awards they
will always be added together as a team. There are no individuals here.
Win=40 points
Tie=20 points
Loss=5 points
Bonuses:
Tapout: 5 points if at any time in your match you clear the pitch of your opponents players.
Upset Special: 5 points for causing a CAS against a star player.
End of tournament bonuses:
These points will only be added in after the final match.
Theme Bonus: 5 points if you put some extra effort into your tag team’s theme. Determined by the
Tournament organizer, but he can be swayed by some good trash talk.
Best Theme: 5 more points to the Tag Team that is voted as having the best overall theme in the
tournament, this will be decided by a vote of the coaches attending with the Tournament organizer
representing the swing vote.
Main Event Bonus: Any team that participated in a Main Event, gains 5 tournament points for each
main event.
Painting Bonus: 10 points if both teams used by your tag team are painted (minimum standard 3 colors,
something done to the bases, and positons easily distinguishable.)
After all that is factored in we will award the following awards,
Tag Team Champions
The team with the highest overall tournament score
Top Contenders
The team with the 2nd highest overall tournament score
Prima Donnas
The team with the highest net Tds (Tds scored – Tds given up)
Heavyweights
The team with the Most CAS (casualties caused by blocking or fouling only)
Fan Favorites
The team that is voted the Best Themed of the tournament
Job Squad
The team that completes 4 rounds and has the lowest score
There will most likely be more smaller awards given out as well, but those are yet to be determined.
Everyone that attends the tournament will receive several cool giveaways that we are planning. The
Game Preserve is very generously donating prizes for the tournaemnt as well. This is going to be an
awesome day of bloodbowl, with a lot of goofy wrestling jokes thrown in make sure you don’t miss it.
Weather Table
2=Lights Out: The lights in the arena have gone out, I can’t see anything. After both teams have setup
for a kickoff choose 1 random player from each team who is lost in the dark place them in the reserves.
Only quick and short passes may be attempted.
3=Thumbtacks: The harcore match before you didn’t get cleaned up very well, there are still
thumbtacks all over the place. Subtract 1 from any go for it attempts, and if the player fails add 1 to the
armour roll.
4-10=Perfect: The show starts with no problems
11=Cage Match!:An unscheduled Cage match is about to take place, the cage comes down from the
rafters and surronds the pitch. Anyone bieng pushed out of bounds stays on the pitch and is treated as
if they were pushed into a standfirm player. If they are knocked down add 1 to the armour roll.
12=Main Event!!!: Your match has been declared the Main Event of the round, the first game to stand
up and announce they are the main event recieves a bonus 5 tournament points. They also have to deal
with some challenges. The Thumbtacks are still on the pitch, see the result above. The Cage is down
see the rules above. The referee has gone missing and will not eject any players for using weapons or
for fouling. The crowd has beend rinking for hours and wants some blood. Before each kickoff,
including the current one the fans throw objects at players from the team with the lowest FAME for the
game. Choose one random player and place them in the KO box.
Kickoff Table
D8 kickoff table
1=Jumped: One of the coaches has been jumped in the locker room and can’t make it out to the ring.
The match is held up one turn while you wait for him. Both coaches move their turn counter forward
one space.
2=Not the Spanish Broadcasters: Someone has been body slammed through the spanish announcers
table again. Both coaches roll a D6 +Fame, losing side nominates one player on their team and that
player is stunned. The winning side is pumped up and gains a reroll. Reroll any ties
3=Its a sloberknocker: the team that has taken the most CAS to this point may give one player on
their team Mighty Blow for the remainder of the match. If the CAS count is tied both teams may give a
palyer Mighty Blow.
4=The Ref’s Down: That Tag team you roughed up last week has come running out of the back and
taken out the ref, each team is awarded a bribe.
5=The maniacs: All your little maniacs are going wild, and your team has noticed. Roll a D6 plus
FAME the winning side gains a reroll while the losing side loses a reroll. Reroll any ties.
6=Throw a Chair: Your tag team partner has thrown a chair in the ring while the refs back is turned.
The kicking team may perform one block action before the ball lands. Add 1 to any armour, and injury
rolls that result from this block.
7=Help from outside: The receiving teams manager is distracting the ref and they are taking advantage
of it. One player on the receiving team may be moved underneath the ball. Another player on the
receiving team may move two space, they may cross the line of scrimage with this movement.
8=What’s Happening?: Something is going on in the arena the announcers are freaking out, roll on
the weather table.

Brew City Blood Bath 2011 rules:
The tournament will be held February 26th & 27th, 2011 at Rockheads Comics and Games in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
Sign-in begins at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday; Round 1 will begin at 10:00 a.m.
Entry Fee: $20
The Rules will be Living Rule Book (LRB) 6.

Rounds, Team Set-up, and Skills.

The tournament will be 2 Days, 5 rounds of Swiss.
Starting team value, before skill-ups, will be 1,100,000. You may purchase any inducement as part of your team other than Mercenaries or Special Play Cards. However your team must still have a minimum of 11 players including Star Players – i.e. 9 linemen and 2 Star Players is acceptable.

After the team is built, you may add 6 regular skills and one doubles skill. Any number of regular skills may be converted to doubles skills at a cost of 1.5 normals per doubles, rounding up. One additional doubles would cost you two normal skills, while two additional doubles skills would cost three normals etc. Up to two skills may given to a player total if you choose to stack.

SCORING:
Round 5 will not be a positional round, final standings will be determined by the total points after round 5

Win: 50 points
Tie: 30 points
Loss: 10 points

Bonuses:
Won by 3+ points = +15 , Won by 2+ points = +10, Lost by only 1 point = +5
Caused 2 or more casualties than opponent = +10
Caused one casualty more than opponent = +5
If at any point your opponent has no players left on the pitch during an active turn you will receive 15 bonus points. This must be verified by T.O. at the time.

For the purposes of casualties “Wisconsin Rules” are in effect. Blocks, fouls, stabs, secret weapons, and the crowd all count. Failed dodges, gfi’s, thrown rocks and such don’t count.

Trophies will be awarded for 1st – 3rd place, Most TD’s, Most Casualties, Most Sporting, and a Stunty Cup

Miniatures should be easily identifiable as the player they represent.

One set of block dice and d6’s should be shared by both players. Feel free to use as many different d8’s and d16’s as you feel necessary to satisfy your need to roll lots of different dice.
